THE ANCIENT GREEK
WRECK Located outside the harbor at about 500 meters north west the harbor entrance, at 15m. depth
with a visibility of 10 to 20m. The bottom composition is rocky and sandy and the aquatic life in this area is rich
with Mediterranean fish. Hundreds of Greco-Roman Amphoras, in different colours and shapes, are scattered all around
the site, together with an anchor that goes back to Napoleon time ... all in one dive.
PHAROS ISLAND Located ouside the Eastern
harbor, arround the citadel, at a depth of 8m. with a visibility of 10 to 15m. The bottom composition is rocky and sandy.
It contains more than 5000 archeological pieces scattered on an area of 100 x 50m, reflecting how strong were the
earthquakes that hit the city of Alexandria and how they destroyed its beauty. The site also contains
thousands of colomns, statues and sphinxes (Greek, Roman & pharahonic) all mixed together. There are
also parts of the wall that surrounded the city, beautiful pharaonic sculpted press-wine, base of obelisk and
parts of the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria. 2 dives are recommended to cover this area (even Intro. divers
can visit this site). |

LOVERS ISLAND Located
inside the Eastern harbor, at a depth of 5m with a visibility from 5 to 10m. The botom composition is
rocky and sandy. In this site you will see the lime stones taht once formed the Summer Palace of Marck
Antony. You will also find Amphoras and Colomns together with a Second World War Italian aeroplane that
enhances the beauty of the underwater world in Alexandria.
11.00 am boarding
11.30 am first dive site (pharos island – one dive for
45 min. at a depth of 8 meters) see more than 8000 archeological pieces including: sphinxes, columns of all
eras (pharhonic - Greek- Roman) parts of the Lighthouse of Alexandria
(one of the seven Wonders of the world) base of obilisque, statues, inscriptions and other surprises.
01.00 pm second dive site (Lovers island or Antirodos island)
45 min. at 5 meters depth. On this site, which was the summer palace of Mark Anthony, you will see lime stones
of the palace, columns, Amphoras that was used for the Royal food and drinks, a Second World War airplane that fell
down on the palace. A magical mixture created by accident, combining the far and the near past.
2.30pm. back to the dive center for lunch

Orient wreck

14 m. about 300m. east to Nelson island of

- The preserved area
is 35m. long by 15m. wide.

a homogenously preserved wreck which
show
a lot of preserved elements as :
* 4 bilge pumps around the site of the mail mast

the remain of the rudder
* Significant concentration of Gold coins ( 230 pieces ) taken out
( coins from malta , Spain , Portogal , France , Egypt , Istanbul , Austria
and venice ).
* Numrous anchors, scatered around Orient ( which allow study of French
and English vessels during the Nval fight )
* Big French cannons , Cannon balls, 100s of small bullets
